Miata lovers, here is THE answer to poor arm support, etc. in Gen I Miata's
while "going thru the gears".

Contributed to the public domain, i.e. it ain't patented or copyrighted,
in the interest of adding more comfort to our fun car.

But, if someone decides to make and market it, so be it.

The following four (4) images should be self explanatory.
(Pictures taken by my daughter, Dianna, with her digital camera.)

Note that you will use the Miata ash tray base as the attachment, or base, for the arm rest.
But, hey, who uses the ash tray any way?

Note how the back part "flows" into the stock arm rest (modified by adding
an after market leather pad).

See how nice and comfortable! Howcome Miata, or someone else, didn't do this before?

Great support going through the gears! (Shift position is in 5th here)

Who to call?

Mr. Steve Ramos
United Seatco Shops, Inc.

(Be sure to tell him that Phil Moore told you to call him.)

How much $ ?  Seatco charged me $79.00 and I tipped Steve $25.00 for the extra time he invested in the design.

I have recently received feedback from some that Steve is asking an outrageous $120.00 for this. Negotiate!!

BTW: Steve recommended using vinyl vs leather, either is available, but he says vinyl
will out last leather, esp in open cars.
