PHILIP A. MOORE
Mr. Moore is the principal and founder of P. A. Moore & Associates, a Professional Income Tax Practice (since 1983).  Mr. Moore's tax practice is primarily focused on middle to upper-middle income taxpayers, many of whom are also small business owners and/or real estate investors.

Mr. Moore received his BA in Business Administration (Economics) at the University of Georgia in 1967 where he continued graduate studies for an MA in Economics (1968) while on scholastic fellowship. He completed MBA studies in Finance at the University of South Carolina in 1974.

Mr. Moore passed the IRS Enrolled Agents examination given in 1994. This intense two day examination, conducted by the Internal Revenue Service, tests practitioners knowledge in all areas of tax competency and practice.

In addition to his public practice experience, Mr. Moore has over 14 years of professional contributions and service for large multi-national firms (such as Westinghouse Corp., Union Pacific Corp., Allied Chemical Corp.) and small private, closely held firms. His hands-on responsibilities included over 8 years in senior level financial management including corporate controller positions. His credentials include service as a senior manager in the Management Consulting Division of a major international CPA firm (KPMG Peat Marwick), and dealer (1987-2000) for Drake Tax Software in Colorado and Wyoming.

Mr. Moore taught college level courses in Accounting, Economics, Economic History, and Computers for a number of years at the University of Georgia, North Carolina Wesleyan, and Arapahoe Community College. In addition,  he conducted seminars for tax practitioners on taxes, tax software and other areas of concern to tax practitioners from 1987 to 2000.

Professional memberships include: National Association of Tax Professionals and National Society of Tax Professionals.

Honors include: Omicron Delta Epsilon (Economics scholastic honor society), Arnold Air Society (Air Force ROTC scholastic honor society), Recognized by the Raleigh, NC Jaycees as "One of Ten outstanding young men of Raleigh NC 1969-70".

Mr. Moore has been active in many civic, and alumni activities and at various times served on home owners associations' Boards of Directors.

He is a veteran of the USAF (SAC) and was a licensed commercial pilot.

Mr. Moore has been happily married to Hope since 1962. Together they have two sons, one daughter, one son-in-law, one daughter-in-law,  four grandsons, and one granddaughter.
